 1967
 A special laboratory for handling radioactive isotopes was established in the School of Biology's Science and Engineering Department, located in the No. 2 Science Building on the Shuri Campus.

 1982
 The Radioactive Isotope Handling Facility and the Waste Processing Center were constructed on the Senbaru Campus.

 1988
 The Waste Processing Center was renamed as the Environmental Safety Center.

 1996

 The Device Analysis Center was established (Ministerial Ordinance Facility).

 2000
 A training building was constructed in the Environmental Safety Center, and the Device Analysis Center was relocated to the third floor of the Science Collaboration Center.

 2007
 The Radioactive Isotope Handling Facility, the Environmental Safety Center, and the Device Analysis Center were unified to create the Instrumental Research Center.

 2014
 The Chemical Substance Control Room was newly established.

 2016
 The Instrumental Research Center and the Low Temperature Center were unified to create the Center for Research Advancement and Collaboration(CRAC).
