■ Outline

 The Center for Research Advancement and Collaboration is an on-campus, shared-use facility comprising five facilities (the Instrumental Research Facility, the Chemical Management Office, the Environmental Research Facility, the Radio Isotope (RI) Management Facility, and the Low Temperature Facility). It supports the education and research of teachers and students throughout the university. 

 At the Instrumental Research Facility, new analytical instruments in various fields have been introduced, and more than 30 pieces of equipment (along with large-sized printers) are currently in operation. Many successful outcomes have been achieved at this facility. To further utilize these facilities efficiently, workshops for beginners and seminars introducing the latest analytical technology are being conducted. Furthermore, the range of acceptance of requested analyses (in and outside of the university) is being expanded.

 At the Environmental Research Facility, waste liquid from experiments and waste products recovered from laboratories are managed, and drainage water quality-testing is performed throughout the university. In the Chemical Management Office, the storage, use, and disposal of chemical substances utilized in experiments is managed. Furthermore, activities and workshops for raising awareness regarding the handling of chemical substances are conducted in coordination with the Environmental Safety Facility.  The Radio Isotope (RI) Management Facility is a specialized experimental facility that handles radioactive substances. It also engages in radiation safety management, including providing education and controlling the level of radiation exposure for users.

 The Low Temperature Facility manufactures liquid nitrogen (-196℃, 77K) and liquid helium (-269℃, 4K) and supplies these to laboratories throughout the university. The facility houses a laboratory with a helium gas recovery pipe network. Thus, experiments that use large amounts of liquid helium can be conducted. As helium is a scarce resource, it is recycled; that is, the gas is recovered and re-liquefied. The facility provides liquid nitrogen for educational use at junior high schools and high schools within the prefecture, offers safety instruction, and lends related equipment (free of charge). Science teachers, please feel free to consult us regarding the use of these facilities.

■ Services

○ Device Management
 Creates lists of precautions and manuals required for handling and managing devices and their required inspections. Conducts workshops on the handling of devices, manages user registration, usage applications, and usage adjustment for devices, and publishes information for center users.
○ Promotion of Shared Use
 Intensively manages analytical devices in the university with the aim of enabling shared use.
○ Conducting Seminars, etc.
 Conducts seminars and lectures by professionals from in and outside  the university on various types of research and fields related to device analysis.
○ Future Planning
 The Steering Committee determines the order of priority for devices requested by each department and formulates future plans for the introduction of such devices.
○ Analysis Requests (Limited to Devices)
 For some devices, requests for analysis are made.
○ Consigned Studies (Limited to Devices)
 Accepts requests for analysis from outside the university.
○ Publishing of Center News, etc.
 Releases information related to the Center as "Center News." Releases information on devices and usage guidance (as necessary) on the homepage.

○ Support and Raising of Awareness for Chemical Substance Control
 As a university-wide support inquiries office for chemical substance control, various workshops are conducted and instruction, advice, and information are provided to both bureaus and on-site laboratories.

○ Operation, Maintenance, and Usage Promotion of the Chemical Reagent Information System
 As a administrator and supporter of a university-wide management system for chemical substances; the Chemical Reagent Information System CRIS, the CRAC maintain the system and offer usage support.

○ Processing of Waste Liquid from Experiments and Harmful Solid Waste

○ Drainage Water Quality Testing and Other Environmental Measurement Tests
